Hello! I am a social impact communications strategist with deep experience in empathy-driven, values-based messaging. My goal is always to connect with people where they are and lift them up from there.
As a Fulbright alum, former congressional press fellow, and first-generation college graduate, I am passionate about expanding paid learning opportunities that equip the next generation to empower themselves, strengthen their communities, and shape a culture that uplifts women both online and offline.
I am a proud North Carolinian and alumna of Davidson College. I live in Asheville, NC with my husband and two dogs.

I’m a strategic communications consultant who has spent my career at the intersection of faith and public life. I’ve always been drawn to the places where values, storytelling, and public action meet—and I see communication as one of the most powerful ways we can help people connect their deepest beliefs with the world’s greatest needs.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of partnering with non-profits, community groups, and political organizations on a wide range of projects —climate and creation care, racial and economic justice, nuclear security, human rights, international development and peace building, domestic poverty, healthcare, and the role of faith in public life.
I’m a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, and I earned my MAR in Theology from Yale Divinity School.

Digitial Engagement Strategist
Pia Baldwin-Edwards

I’m Pia Baldwin Edwards, digital engagement strategist for Countercurrent. With a background spanning data, advertising, AI, communications, critical feminist studies, political campaigns, and public service, I know the stakes of this work are critical—and I know we have the tools to reclaim ownership of the narrative and take back the internet.
My passion lies in strategizing new solutions to old problems that shape real people’s everyday lives. At Countercurrent, I design digital campaigns and systems to elevate unheard voices and scale the digital output and impact of our work.
I grew up just outside Chicago in Evanston, IL, and New Orleans is where I’ve called home for nearly a decade. I recently graduated from Yale University with a BA in Political Science, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and a Certificate in Data Science.
We Are Countercurrent
Countercurrent exists to shift the tides of influence online—away from regressive ideologies and towards real connection, individual autonomy, and collective empowerment.
We are a women-owned company building a new kind of content ecosystem: one rooted in authenticity, purpose, and cultural relevance.
In a world where bad actors use lifestyle aesthetics and viral formats to push regressive, misinformed narratives across social media, we’re creating a powerful countercurrent—one that meets communities where they already are and gives them something better.
We build coordinated, scalable digital content that’s as compelling as it is values-aligned—using smart strategy, cutting-edge AI, and the creative force of emerging digital leaders. Our content doesn’t just react to harmful narratives—it sets a new tone, builds real community, and shifts the online narrative from the inside out.
